Seven decades of strategic investment

"For more than seventy years, Compagnie Harwanne has stood at the heart of European economic dynamism."

Timeline

One trajectory, five milestones

1955
The foundations of a Franco-Swiss player

Founded simultaneously in Geneva and Paris, Harwanne established itself from the outset as a true bridge between the Swiss and French financial spheres. With strong institutional roots, the house forged the first ties of a network destined to extend to the highest levels of European capitalism.

The era of European builders

A decisive step was taken with the creation of leading strategic alliances with Paribas and its subsidiaries Pargesa and Paribas Affaires Industrielles. These powerful synergies positioned Harwanne at the heart of the major challenges of the era, investing for the long term in the genuine flagships of European capitalism.

The entrepreneurial impulse

At the dawn of the new millennium, Financière Pinault became the company's reference shareholder. This new governance instilled a resolutely entrepreneurial vision, embodied notably by the development and structuring of Continentale d'Entreprise, consolidating the scale of the house.

Institutional permanence

The baton was taken up by Mutuelle du Mans Assurance (Covéa Group), which succeeded the Pinault family and took control of Compagnie Harwanne. The arrival of this insurance leader brought long-term solidity, confirming the house's vocation to steer its investments with rigour, security and vision.

Refocusing and agility

A new chapter was written when Groupe Fribourg succeeded Covéa. Under this impetus, Compagnie Harwanne focused its activities with precision on strategic investment. Drawing on its rich heritage, the house combines its historical experience with the agility of the EFFICAP strategy, private equity, private debt and other assets on behalf of institutional third parties.

From Paribas to Covéa, from Financière Pinault to Groupe Fribourg, each alliance has forged a single imperative: to steer capital with rigour, security and vision.
